It seems much longer, but 3-years-ago, Magic 109 closed its doors and in doing so, most of our presenters have moved on. Admittedly it is sad to see some of them go, but my hope to return a staple show will bring something new. I feel blessed that so much has happened in the three-year absence of Magic 109 and do feel bringing The Rockin’ Pop Party back is time.
I do hope you’ll join me for an evening of reflection, but most importantly a good time. I may feature guests, and your involvement on social media is encouraged. There may not be a “Between the Sheets: Cover Comparison” this week, but I will have “The Rockin’ Hour in History” for you.
Along with some reflection, I’ll feature a lot of your favorite tunes from the 1980 right on up through today in the first two hours. Honestly, looking back at it, a lot of it came out in the 2000s. I tried to blend a bit of everything in the show to give you a taste of what’s to come. You’ll hear rock, pop, country, and even some Christian favorites too! In the last hour, “The Rockin’ Hour in History”, I put a bit more of an emphasis on the 70s. The show will surely have a track or two that you’ll know and maybe some you don’t! I also want to share some ideas of the direction I want to steer The Rockin’ Pop Party as well. I’d be interested in you the listeners thoughts and hope something good comes out of it. Of course, I’d be happy to take any requests or dedications you might have as well! My hope is to entertain your evening with some good music, entertainment, interaction, and at least for this week, some reflections of where the show was and where you think it might be down the road!
I should probably mention I haven’t been behind a microphone LIVE for quite a long time, so expect me tripping over my tongue and a goof-up here and there during the show. The last time I was on-air turned out to be an epic fail and I hope to avoid that if at all possible. Regardless, mishaps happen and they make the show unique and in some cases entertaining. After all, we all love to see someone trip and fall. Right? That said, there will be no archive or way to replay the show. Thus, you’ll want to set a reminder or enjoy us on the go if you can. There are plenty of ways to tune in, and you can find them all here on our website, so you don’t have an excuse!
If you’d like to reach out to me, I am on Facebook and Twitter. My handle is “ItsJustGenoJ” or you can search for “ItsJustGenoJ” as well. I did recently join Mastodon too. You can find me as “@ItsJustGenoJ@Mastodon.social” over there. That said, I’m still relatively new, so forgive me if I’m not as responsive as I am on the other platforms. Over time, I do believe I’ll get use to it though. Of course, you’re more than welcome to also visit my personal website to find other ways to reach out to me. The web address is ItsJustGenoJ.com. No joke! Hold the apostrophe!
I do hope you’ll join me, Geno J for three thrilling hours of what I hope turns out to be a triumphant return of The Rockin’ Pop Party this Friday at 9 pm (ET) here on Magic 109, the only station breaking the radio dial, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week!
